The Logitech G435 is a lightweight wireless headset that works over Logitech's Lightspeed dongle or Bluetooth. It launched in 2021 at a budget price, and published reviews are split on how much that price buys in sound and microphone quality.

Key specs

  • Weight: 165g (Logitech, Trusted Reviews, Tech Guided)
  • Battery: 18 hours per Logitech, which Trusted Reviews said held up in its testing
  • Wireless: Lightspeed 2.4GHz USB dongle with a range of up to 10 meters, plus Bluetooth (Logitech)
  • Mode switching: the headset runs in one mode at a time. Logitech's support page says you hold the mute button for three seconds or more to switch between Lightspeed and Bluetooth
  • Drivers: 40mm (Tech Guided, GadgetGuy)
  • Microphone: dual beamforming mics built into the headset, not removable (Logitech, Game Revolution)
  • Charging: USB-C (GadgetGuy)
  • Platforms: Logitech's page lists PC, Mac, PS4, PS5, Xbox and Switch support. GadgetGuy reported that it cannot connect to an Xbox, so confirm your platform before buying

What published reviews found

Comfort and build. Weight is the main draw. Trusted Reviews called it "extremely comfortable," and Game Revolution described the fit as almost imperceptible. The caveats: Logitech's own page says it is optimized for younger players and those with smaller heads, Tech Guided described the fit the same way, and Trusted Reviews said it feels "slightly flimsy." Game Revolution raised durability as its main concern, and GadgetGuy noted plastic construction and sound leakage.

Sound. Reviewers did not agree. Trusted Reviews found good tonal balance, and Game Revolution liked the lows and highs without boominess. Tech Guided called it a little bass-heavy and short of higher-end models, while GadgetGuy rated it mid-range at best, with a flat profile and little bass impact.

Microphone. This was the weakest area in several reviews. Tech Guided called it slightly crackly and sensitive to background noise. GadgetGuy said voices sounded muffled and distant to the listener. Game Revolution called it adequate for in-game chat but not for streaming. Trusted Reviews was more positive, calling the microphone acceptable while saying it "could be way better."

Battery and connection. Trusted Reviews said the 18-hour rating held up in its testing. Tech Guided confirmed the 18-hour claim and found the wireless connection quick, with no perceptible latency. GadgetGuy noted there is no precise battery level indicator.

Other drawbacks. Trusted Reviews listed no audio jack, no Logitech G Hub support and limited wireless range in practice.

Price and availability

The G435 launched at $79.99, according to Game Revolution (September 2021) and Trusted Reviews, and Tech Guided still showed $79.99 on Amazon in February 2022. Those prices are several years old. Current street prices vary, so check the retailer listing and our gaming headset deals page. Logitech's product page still lists the headset, including Switch 2 compatibility.

Who it's for

The G435 suits players with smaller heads who want a very light, cable-free headset that can also pair with a phone over Bluetooth. It is a reasonable pick for casual gaming, commuting and calls where the microphone only needs to be good enough.

Skip it if you have a larger head, need a strong microphone for streaming or team play, want a headphone jack, or plan to rely on Xbox support without checking first. For a headset with a detachable boom mic and much longer battery rating, see the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless, though published reviews were mixed on its mic too. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 costs more but adds simultaneous wireless modes and a retractable mic.

Bottom line

The G435 is easy to like for its weight and low price, and just as easy to criticize for a middling microphone and a fit that favors smaller heads. Battery life is adequate rather than strong. If those compromises fit how you play, it is a decent budget wireless option, but listen to the microphone feedback before you commit.
