The Corsair 4000D Airflow is a mid-tower ATX case that swaps the standard 4000D's solid front for a perforated panel. It launched in 2020 and is still listed by Corsair, which makes the published coverage a few years old but still useful for fit and cooling expectations.

What published reviews found

Tom's Hardware covered the 4000D and 4000X in September 2020 and described the family as an excellent successor to the 450D. It praised the clean look and refined interior, noted that the mesh option suits performance-minded builders, and called the case relatively quiet. Its complaints were a single front USB-A port and stock fans that do not spin fast enough for extreme cooling demands.

KitGuru tested the Airflow model with a Ryzen 9 3900X, a Corsair H115i cooler and an RTX 2080 Ti. The reviewer was surprised how small the benefit of the mesh panel was versus the regular 4000D, at roughly 4°C in stress testing. KitGuru liked the build quality, USB-C connection and easy-to-clean dust filters, but disliked the heavily tinted glass, the 3-pin (non-PWM) fan connectors and higher noise under heavy cooling demand.

PCGamesN's reviewer used it with a Ryzen 5 7600 and reported cool, quiet running through a hot summer. The outlet praised airflow, dust filtration and support for large cards such as the RTX 4080 and 4090. It criticized the I/O selection, side panels that take force to remove, a sensitive reset button, and limited top radiator space when tall RAM is installed.

Price and availability

Tom's Hardware listed an $80 MSRP for the Airflow version at its 2020 launch, and KitGuru priced it at 79.99 pounds in the UK. Corsair's US store showed $104.99 for the black tempered glass model when checked on October 6, 2026. The case is not marked discontinued, but it is an older design, so compare current street prices and newer rivals before buying.

Who it's for

The 4000D Airflow fits builders who want a conventional mid-tower with room for an E-ATX board, a large GPU and a 360mm front radiator, and who value easy dust filtering. It also has room for two 3.5" and two 2.5" drives.

Skip it if you want more fans in the box, PWM-controlled stock fans, or more than one USB-A port up front. Anyone with a very tall air cooler should also note the 170mm limit. For comparison, the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact and the NZXT H5 Flow target a similar buyer. Our budget gaming PC build guide shows where a case like this fits in a full build.

Bottom line

The 4000D Airflow earns mostly positive marks for fit, filtering and cooling, but KitGuru's finding that the mesh panel helps only modestly is worth weighing against its price. It is a dependable, roomy mid-tower for ATX and E-ATX builds. At the current $104.99 list price it competes with cases that include more fans.
