The Steam Autumn Sale is live and ends October 8, so there is roughly a day left to act. Here are the standout deals reported so far and how to avoid overpaying.
When the Sale Ends
The Steam Autumn Sale 2026 runs October 1 through October 8. It started at 10 AM Pacific Time on day one and, if it follows Steam's usual pattern, closes at the same hour on the final day. Prices return to normal afterward.
Best Deals So Far
Discounts reach as high as 90% on older catalog titles. Prices below are as reported by launch-week coverage and can change, so check the Steam page before buying.
- 90% off: Monster Hunter Rise ($3.99), Skyrim Special Edition ($3.99), Death's Door ($1.99) and The Outlast Trials ($3.99, a record low).
- Big RPGs and action games: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade ($9.99, 75% off), Persona 3 Reload ($17.99, 70% off), Cyberpunk 2077 ($17.99, 70% off) and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 ($23.99, 60% off).
- Recent releases: Space Marine 2 ($14.99, 75% off), Assassin's Creed Shadows ($27.99, 60% off) and Hades II ($20.99, 30% off).
Newer, popular titles sit in the 30-60% range, in line with the 25-33% many major games got last year, while older titles go much deeper.
How to Avoid Overpaying
Check your wishlist first: wishlisted games show their sale price on the wishlist page, and Steam only notifies you about games you have flagged. If you're planning a hardware upgrade alongside a fall gaming binge, time it separately — our current GPU deals roundup tracks graphics card pricing, which doesn't move in step with Steam's software sales.
If your backlog is already large, our free game offers roundup covers what's claimable for free right now through Epic Games Store and Prime Gaming.
Bottom Line
The sale ends October 8. If something on your wishlist is at a historic low, buy it now; otherwise the next major Steam event is the Winter Sale.
