PlayStation Plus members can add three games to their library in October 2026: F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. According to the PlayStation Blog, the games are available from Tuesday, October 6 until Monday, November 2, so there is plenty of time to claim them.
PlayStation Plus Monthly Games are the titles Sony adds to the PS Plus catalog each month for members to claim at no extra cost. A game is claimed by adding it to your library during the monthly window. After that it stays available to play for as long as your PS Plus membership remains active, even if you only start playing weeks later. If the membership lapses, access to the claimed games pauses until you subscribe again. The lineup can differ by region, so check the PlayStation Store on your own console to see exactly which games are offered in your country. This month's three games cover a racing sim, an extraction shooter and a co-op action game.
F1 25 (PS5)
F1 25 is the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. Single-player options include Career mode and My Team 2.0, where you run a Formula 1 team as its owner. Online, a mode called F1 World lets you race with friends as a squad against AI drivers. It is a PS5 game in this lineup, so PS4-only players cannot claim it.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5)
Hunt: Showdown 1896 is an extraction shooter. You hunt monsters and rival players in corrupted backwaters, claim bounties and then escape with your reward. You can play solo or bring up to two teammates. PlayStation also lists a Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack for members from October 6 as part of a HorrorFest promotion that ends October 20. The packs require owning the base game, which this month's offer provides.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5 and PS4)
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is a team-based battle game in which giant enemies attack a square, voxel-style Earth. You build a four-soldier squad from rescued teammates and choose their equipment. It supports four-player online co-op and two-player local split screen, and it is the only game in this lineup with a PS4 version.
Before the Window Closes
- Claim by November 2. Add each game to your library before the window ends. You do not need to download or finish them right away.
- Check your platform. F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896 are PS5 only. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is on both PS5 and PS4.
- Keep your membership active. Claimed games stay playable only while your PS Plus subscription is active.
- Missed September? The September games had to be claimed by October 5. Our September PS Plus lineup lists what that month offered.
How to Claim
Sign in to your PlayStation Network account on your console with an active PS Plus membership, open each game's page in the PlayStation Store and add it to your library. Repeat for all three games, since each one is claimed separately.
Bottom Line
None of these three needs a decision beyond claiming them. If you only have time to try one, pick by what you play: F1 25 for racing on PS5, Hunt: Showdown 1896 if you like tense extraction shooters, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 for co-op with friends.
